Your steps stay
on your phone.

Effective November 1, 2026. Publisher: Rebellion LLC. Applies to Pedometer versions 1.0.0 and 1.0.1.

This policy describes the Pedometer Android app. Website visits, downloads, and messages you send separately are different from the app’s local data.

What the app uses

With your permission, Pedometer reads your phone’s hardware step counter. It uses steps, walk start and end times, durations, saved history, and optional weight and walking step length to count steps and estimate distance and active walking calories.

What stays on your phone

App data is processed and stored in the app’s private storage on your phone. Pedometer doesn’t send it to Rebellion LLC or anyone else. The app has no internet or location permission, advertising, analytics, tracking, accounts, subscriptions, or cloud services. It doesn’t connect to Health Connect, Google Fit, or a remote fitness account.

Permissions and background counting

Physical activity access lets the app read the step sensor. A foreground health service and its quiet notification let counting you start continue with the screen off. Notification permission lets Android show those controls. You can pause counting in the app or notification, and change permissions in Android’s app settings. Revoking physical activity access prevents counting.

Keeping and deleting history

Your daily total, current walk, and optional settings stay on this phone between app launches. With Keep history enabled, daily totals and finished walks are saved until you delete them. Turning it off stops new history from being saved; it keeps earlier history, today’s total, and the current walk.

History lets you delete individual days, date ranges, or saved walks. Clear all step data removes steps and walks, including an unfinished walk, but keeps optional estimate settings. You can remove weight or edit step length separately in Settings.

Uninstalling removes the app’s data. App backup and device transfer are disabled in the Android configuration, and there’s no in-app history export or restore service. Rebellion LLC can’t retrieve data that exists only on your phone.

Protecting local data

The Android app sandbox protects local files. Pedometer doesn’t add separate database encryption or an app password. Use your phone’s lock and security settings to protect access to your device.

Who the app is for

Pedometer is intended for teens and adults aged 13 and older. It is not intended for children under 13.

Contact and website services

If you email hi@rebellioncompany.com, the email providers involved process that message separately. We use what you send to respond to your inquiry. The app doesn’t automatically include your step or health history in support messages.

We delete resolved Pedometer support emails from our support mailbox within 30 days after resolution. The email providers involved may retain backup copies under their own policies. You can contact hi@rebellioncompany.com to request deletion sooner.

Cloudflare hosts this website and processes download requests, security diagnostics, and website performance measurements. If you later install through an app store, that store processes its own requests under its policies. The app’s offline behavior doesn’t mean those services process no information. Read the website’s contact and site notes for the services used here.

Fitness estimates

Pedometer is for general fitness. Distance and calorie values are estimates, not medical measurements.
